Overall this hotel was nice. Not a bad price. Clean rooms with microwave and fridge.
Fresh scented apothecary toiletries. Large outdoor picnic area with grills. Vending machines. Continental breakfast in the lobby with a big seating area. Pool is open but limited to 1 hour up with 4 ppl. Staff was friendly. Hotels suffered greatly during covid too and have expenses to pay. Used this hotel for a lacrosse tournament for my daughter…very overpriced for what you get.
Rooms are old and outdated, musty odor throughout- pool and fitness areas closed, sparse breakfast options. I do apologize that your stay was less than desirable and we will be taking measures to correct the mentioned concerns. I don't know what has happened to hotels since the pandemic, but this BW is our second disappointing hotel on this trip.
I guess this is why they call it BW Plus, because it is certainly not because of the treatment or amenities. Our toilet ran, our faucet was hard to turn off and our carpet felt sticky. The person at the reception desk was rude. Otherwise, everything was great. This property should not be rated as "Plus," there is nothing special about it. It is barely comparable to other hotels under the Best Western Brand. I expect these hotels to be modest, but clean with simple amenities. The fitness center was closed, the pool pump was broken, the breakfast was sparse.
We were asked to come get our own clean towels, then come back when the washcloths were done, and bring down our dirty towels when we do. I basically paid for a bed, shower, and internet. I do apologize that your stay was less than desirable. We are definitely looking for this year to get back to a little more normal. Also for the safety of our guest the pool had to be closed due to the light that was kicked out by guest.
My son and I have been staying at your hotel for years. We missed last year because of the pandemic. Returning this year, there was a clear change. Starting with the safe to guard my valuables, the women at the front desk said they did not have the code and seem confused about it. They did not solve the problem nor did they seem to care and ultimately I was unable to utilize the safe. There was a musty odor that I don't recall from the past in the room. The outlet next to the sink was broken and never fixed after I reported it.
The now limited breakfast had a on the regular coffee machine that it was out. The garbage around the perimeter of the hotel were overfilled, onto the sidewalk for the entire two nights and days that we stayed. I cannot say for sure but there was or has been a clear change in management and it definitely showed. So I am sad to say because of the overall good experiences we had in the past I do not believe we would stay here again. Definitely not worth it. We look forward to you coming every year for NasCar and I am sadden to hear that you were disappointed with your stay.
The concerns that you stated will be addressed and corrected. We would love to have another chance to show you a more comfortable stay. Have a great day! The building it's self was not in bad condition. The room smelled of smoke the floors were dirty and sticky. The bath room tub was dirty. The door was wilted and you had to slam it shut to close. It was noisy in the am. We apologize that your stay was less than desirable.
We appreciate every review good and bad so we can better improve our property. We encourage all guests to express any concerns to the front desk so your experience can be better and the issues can also be corrected for the next guest. Two of us decided to try to get around the high-priced tolls in Delaware. The cleanliness of the rooms was disgusting bugs was found in the rooms the front desk lady very rude very disrespectful she basically shut the pool down because she's seen African Americans checking in which we knew the pool was open cuz you smelled the chlorine coming in you seen people in towels as we were checking in coming from the pool but she closed it.
Yes, you are absolutely correct about the smell of chlorine, but our pool and hot tub has not been open since March of due to the pandemic. I, myself being an African American explained this to the person that inquired about the reservations before identifying the race of the team. We are a very diverse team and would never discriminate towards our guest. Check-in and check out was smooth sailing because I hadn't made reservations and the gentleman was courteous and extremely willing to assist me with my stay!
Best Western locations have always in my opinion been great for lodging and professional. Will be returning in July! We appreciate you staying with us and look forward to seeing you again here at the Best Western Newark Christiana Inn in July!!! The hotel was clean and the staff was professional and courteous. We appreciated the extra precautions taken to keep guests safe during the pandemic. The location was very convenient to shopping and dining if needed. Enjoyed my stay I had to book another night staff friendly and helpful. Always cleaning seams to be the moto here I appreciate the care from top to bottom this is my go to spot when in Delaware check them out.
This is not the first time that I have stayed here and the service has always been great. The desk clerk was friendly and made sure that all of the covid 19 requirements were being met. As I checked in later in the evening she made sure that I was checked in quickly and was able to get to my room in a short time frame. Thank you for another great stay. And, the location was convenient. The problem is that there are SO many hidden fees. I booked online and then called the front desk to ask about their pet policy. I was coming into town for a dog event.
I asked if there was a limit on pets. She said no We drive 11 hours When I told her that is not what I was told And, since I traveled there with 4 dogs What happened to the customer is always right or honoring what you've already agreed to? We walked dogs past all these vehicles with men just sitting in their cars. I couldn't tell her they were drug dealers, or pimps selling call girls out of the hotel There were probably 8 cars with people just sitting in the dark out there.
For 1am Its intimidating and if i worked there, I'd insist on security to clear all those people out of the parking lot. It was literally like that every evening starting around orHot women Bear Delaware
